About

Thank you for your interest in joining our group.

My name is Julia McVicker and I am an Occupational Therapist based out of Alpharetta, Georgia. I am a native Georgian, which I am told is a rare thing. I even attended our local womens college, Brenau University and graduated in 2005 with my Masters in Occupational Therapy. I have enjoyed a career evolution from inpatient care to outpatient settings with a focus on hand therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation and neurologic diagnoses.

I must admit I have a curious mind and I have been searching for ways to connect in my local market with clinicians and specialists in rehabilitation. I have found that even within our own organizations we are spending little time making connections and getting to know other rehabilitation disciplines. The idea for this organization grew over time starting with disappointment that there were not more resources online or groups to bring clinicians together. Today our group includes an online membership site, social media channels, online recorded interviews and member only content. We host both live and online events and are always looking for content creators, blog writers, and social engagement specialists.

This group is a realization of a dream to connect clinicians across the state of Georgia in all fields of rehabilitation. I believe we can do amazing things for our state and the clients we serve.  I feel blessed to have the support of our board members and the ambassadors who dedicate their time and resources to the community of GTC members.

“Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” e. e.  cummings.
